In 2019, I was in Seattle for a computer conference. I arrived a day early so I could hike the trails around Mt Rainer with a good friend.
On the way back from the hike we were looking for a place to eat and stopped by a locally owned homestyle inn for supper. After we were seated, the lady brought out fresh bread and what looked like butter, but it was purple! Purple? I inquired what was this purple looking butter and discovered it was blackberry butter. Butter infused with locally picked blackberries and it was amazing (I am still talking/writing about it!).
Being a computer nerd and a privacy advocate, while munching on blackberry cuisine we started to talk about “where did Blackberry go?” There is new movie which details the chronicles of the rise and fall of this great mobile platform, I recommend watching it.
What they did not capture in the movie as well as they could have was; how Blackberry captured the serious business market because of their secure operating system, private messaging, and secure communications.
When we started our privacy initiative, we stumbled on the UniHertz Titan and got us to thinking, could we revive the spirit of the Blackberry. Could its ghost help guide us? Was the essence of why people used a BlackBerry still worth exploring?
Could a phone with a physical keyboard, a privacy focused mobile operating system with a secure communication suite recapture part of the mobile market? Well, we are going to try!
We would like to introduce you to our professional oriented phone called the Privacy Titan Pro. It is designed to be your private communication channel between you and your trusted circle. If you just use Wi-Fi and Inner Circle on this phone it is a very secure and private communications platform. You can also add a data plan for calls, txt and mobile data and a few secure communication apps like Signal. Plus, tailor your communication experience using our anonymous Privacy Society App Store.
Highlights
Hardware. It has a physical keyboard and its rugged. Software keyboards can actually monitor your keystrokes. Be careful of software keyboards as they can send “anonymous” telemetry to a central server of everything you type.
Privacy OS. We use a Privacy Society’s flavor of LineageOS. Based on the Android Open Source Project and it is De-Googled. You do not need a user account to use the phone or the Privacy Society App Store to load optional apps anonymously anytime. Certain optional apps may need accounts to work, but the base operating system (unlike Apple or Google) does not need an account for the app store.
Private Chat. We use Inner Circle which is a lightly customized version of Session so you can communicate with your trusted circle. No central servers, no personal identifiable information, disappearing messages, and chat history can be purged forever anytime. You can add Signal if you wish from our App Store.
Shadow Suite. This masks your real phone number with a virtual number. You never have to give out your real number again and you can recycle your virtual number anytime. This works for both voice and txt. This service does need your real phone number to work. This is less about the privacy of the communications but more that you don’t have to give out your real number. Totally optional. Requires a mobile plan with texting and data.

Like everything above but not sure if you want a real keyboard again? You can try our Executive or Personal privacy phones.
In Closing
Mobile phones and fast data networks are amazing. The ability to communicate with your trusted contacts in real time is super amazing. For some of us, communication is all we want to do with our mobile devices thus we are on a mission to provide a platform for private communications and a few useful applications committed to privacy.
I think privately is the natural way to communicate. Just as natural as finishing our meal at the foot of Mt. Rainer with blackberry pie.
